@ Meuterei (Zollschuppenstr. 1)
17-19 h: Connected in spirit – anarchism, feminism and animal liberation
@ Meuterei (Zollschuppenstr. 1)
(lecture for beginners, length approx. 2h)
Louise Michel wrote in 1879: “”[…] I saw the hard work in the fields as it is: it bends man over the furrows like the ox; the slaughterhouse stands ready for the animal when it is spent; the beggar’s sack for man when he can no longer work.”
She also saw a connection between the exploitation of animals and the oppression of women. In our interactive event (i.e. a relaxed lecture style and no obsessive involvement of the audience), we would like to approach the concepts of anarchism, feminism, and animal liberation, in Louise Michel’s spirit, and point out points of intersection. For this purpose we will look at anarcha-feminism. This stands for a combination of anarchist and feminist ideas with the goal of a society without domination. But if it is truly dominationless, it must also go beyond its own species. This can only be achieved if we destroy not only the economic and political structures of domination, but also the unequal treatment of people and question the social human-animal relationship.
7-21pm: “Anarchist Plurality and Synthesis” – Input & Discussion.
@ Meuterei (Zollschuppenstr. 1).
First there will be an input on the different anarchist currents, how to deal with plurality and the conditions of the existing form of society. Then we will take on controversial topics and represent conflicting positions in order to understand different points of view. Afterwards, we will reflect on our own behavior, needs for distancing and understanding, as well as social, tactical and ideological components that lead to referring to and distancing from each other.
5-7 p.m. LECTURE “Cop city Atlanta” @ eg125 (not barrier-free)
8pm-2pm stream and Q&A with Cop City activists @eg125 (not accessible)
In Atlanta, a “no holds barred” fight to protect Weelaunee forest and block the $90 million Cop City from being built. The 35 hectare police training center would various shooting rages, and an entire mock city to develop anti riot tactics. On March 5th, thousands showed up to join the occupations in the forest and over 20 people were arrested and charged with domestic terrorism. Tonight, we’ll have a 2-part event. We’ll start with an introduction & history of the movement. Then, after a break, we’ll hear from some comrades currently involved in the movement for a Q&A and discussion
