Mutual aid / self_social therapy, or MAST for short, was founded by anti-authoritarian psychotherapists in NYC with the goal of creating a self-organized form of therapy for emancipatory, resistant communities. We met in early February 2024 with the goal of founding a MAST group and now meet regularly for therapy processes. On this evening, we want to report on our experiences with MAST so far, reflect on them (critically) and exchange ideas about other self-organized, anti-authoritarian forms of therapy and ways of dealing with mental health problems.
