2-3.30 pm EG125: Current methods of state surveillance in Germany
By: AND- Anarchist Network Dresden
Language: german
Government agencies are constantly seeking new ways to observe, eavesdrop on, and track individuals. But what is the current state of affairs? What “covert technical means” are currently being used? How do police observe, how are movement profiles created, and how are we being eavesdropped on? This presentation will attempt to find answers to these questions through practical examples and events from recent years. At the same time, methods will be presented to reflect on security concepts in groups and minimize the impact of surveillance measures.
4-5.30 pm EG125: 3 years after uprising in Belarus – political situation and repressions in the country
By: ABC Belarus
Language: English
In August 2020, the Belarusian people rose up against the dictatorship of Alexander Lukashenko in the hopes of overthrowing a regime that had been in power since 1994. Several months of protests led to a wave of mass repression and political migration from the country. With thousands of political prisoners, including at least 30 anarchists, Belarus has one of the highest levels of repression in Europe today. A few years later, Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine with the support of the Belarusian regime, creating even more challenges for the resistance against dictatorship in Belarus. During this talk, members of ABC-Belarus will present the current political situation inside the country and among the diaspora in Poland/Lithuania. What are the perspectives of those trying to overthrow the dictatorship and what is the role of anarchists in this story?

6 – 8 pm EG125: Text discussion: mutual aid, trauma and resiliency
By: APESD
Language: English, German
„[…] disenchantment, hopelessness, burnout, isolation. This is the particular arena in which strategies are sparse and the work of care is inequitably distributed. The purpose of this text is to act as a resource for those who see the value in engaging in the work of collective care, for those who want to expand their knowledge and practices of responding collectively to trauma.“
In addition to a critical exchange about the text, we want to ask ourselves questions, such as:
- How can we counter isolation and distance, which can exacerbate the effects of trauma, within our friendships, affinity groups, communities, movements?
- What if we included emotional and psychological preparedness in action planning the same way we do physical and tactical preparedness?
You can find the text here: https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/the-jane-addams-collective-mutual-aid-trauma-and-resiliency – Please read it already before the event, bring your questions, (critical) thoughts and vegan snacks 🙂
